What Alice wore...
10.11.2008
Wow. I just heard the news that Tim Burton is in the process of filming a re-make of Alice in Wonderland. And from what I read, people are both excited and scared at the prospect! That's the funny way things go sometimes. I'm already loving the first glimpse though. Mia Wasikowska as Alice is rockin' some serious style here in this amazing ric-rac skirt. That can't be denied. Love the new costume interpretation.

New Paris Interiors
9.03.2008

Tomorrow I'm leaving for Paris, so I thought this book on New Paris Interiors from Taschen would be a fitting post. You can flip through the whole book online, there are some really amazing artistic spaces in there. I love the chalkboard mantle in one of the living rooms, and the house with the spiral staircase that leads to a loft library, surrounded by tall glass windows with views of the city... well you'll have to check it out.

I'll be back in a week, with lots of photos and stories from our trip.

Selina Lake's: Bazaar Style
6.01.2008
(photos via: Selina Lake's online portfolio)

Just before I left for my recent trip to New York, Selina Lake's new book:
Bazaar Style: Decorating With Market and Vintage Finds arrived in my mailbox. I was smiling from ear to ear, as it's just my cup of my tea. It showcases unique spaces decorated with vintage, retro and flea-market finds. Total Bliss!

(photos via flickr community: bazaar style)

I first came across Selina's interior styling portfolio through flickr, when she added me as a contact. (Can you see, why I love that site so much??!!) She's created a group there to showcase rooms that have been inspired by the bazaar style aesthetic, and to answer questions about her book. You can join her group here, and be inspired too!

To gain more insight into Selina Lake's profession as an interior stylist, you can also read a fantastic interview she did with one of my favorite design bloggers Decor 8.

My aunt had this beautiful oil painting of a woman in a red kimono in her living room when we recently visited her in California. The moment I laid eyes on it, I was instantly smitten. Last week she sent me the link to Tealan's webshop where she purchased it. I'm so over the moon about it, it's absolutely lovely and SO affordable.

Thanks to my iphone again, I can give you a little peek of this painting hanging in my aunt's living room. It was late in the day and taken in dim lighting, so the photo isn't the best... but I'm sure you'll get the idea!

Sophie Adde's paintings were recently introduced to me on flickr (via Eclectic Gipsyland). One small glance was all it took, I needed to see more.

Sophie's background as a textile designer really shines through in her use of pattern and colors. I also love how the motifs of her work have been inspired by her own world travels. Truly an artist after my own heart!

Some of her original paintings are being sold through les petits poissont rouges, and postcard prints can be bought at la marelle en papier.

Stenciled Pumpkins
10.16.2007

After last years fantasizing about creating these very delicate carved pumpkins. I've been looking to try something much simpler this year. Luckily before I went searching to unearth my carving tools in the attic, I saw this really clever idea in Better Homes and Gardens magazine on making stenciled pumpkins with paper doilies. I ended up cutting up the doilies to make my own patterns, the end result reminds me a bit of print blocked textiles from India.

I'd also like to try making these celestial pumpkins once it gets a bit closer to Halloween, to light the way to our porch. Aren't they lovely?

Martha, Martha, Martha... your site always has the best ideas.

Here are a few of the fun project ideas they have offered up on her site for Halloween. Spookyness is a good thing.

vintage vacations
10.01.2007

Recently my husband has become enchanted with a vintage airstream trailer that he found and wants to restore. (His last four-wheel restoration project was this vintage red truck). So for the past few days I've been scouring the internet for photos of re-finished trailers.

I found these sweet photographs on Vintage Vacations, where you can spend a holiday in American trailers in the U.K., sited on the south coasts Isle of Wight on a rural working farm. You might of also recently seen one of their trailers used as a backdrop for the photography of the July catalog for Free People. You can see more of the fun trailer stylings at Vintage Vacations here.

And then there is the vintage-modernist take on the airstream. Julie Moody interior design revamped this 1963 Airstream marrying a vintage aesthetic with all the modern conveniences.

Another amazing modernist vintage trailer restoration from vintage trailering. (A bachelor pad on wheels?!)

Christopher Deam's new airstream interior (via transparent house design studio) that's absolutely mind-blowing.

Design Within Reach's airstream, also inspired by architect-designer Chris Deam who once gutted a vintage trailer to create a booth for the International Contemporary Furniture fair, "making only improvements not changes".

Who knew it would be so easy to turn "trailer trash"?!

Kime Buzzelli
8.12.2007

Kime Buzzelli's artwork makes me completely weak in the knees. I get such an overwhelming feeling of inspiration each time I visit her blog The Moldy Doily. Her paintings are a brilliant combination of beauty and edginess.

I also love the way they emanate a contagious sort of creative energy. I always feel like I want to go run off and create something each time I visit.

To see a really wonderful collection of her work, and learn more about the artist (she's so wonderfully intriguing!) visit the motel gallery's website.

This afternoon I was busily working on a design project, and found myself stuck on color choices. As luck would have it, I later visited bighugelabs site and found this new color palette generator that pulls harmonious colors from photographs. My minds running amuck with the possibilities here, total genius!

This is a photo of Freckles taken last year in my home studio. The numbers under the swatches correlate with the appropriate web colors. Such a savvy flickr gadget too!

My heart completely skipped a beat this afternoon when I opened up my mailbox to find the issue of BoligLiv Liquid Sky Arts was mentioned in last month. Thanks so much Kirsten for sending it all the way from Denmark!

I had to scan a few photos from article they did on designer Louise Campbell's artistic home to share here. I love the originality in how she decoupaged a complete wall and furniture with squares of Origami paper. So Clever!

I was also taken by this photograph of her books arranged by the colors of the spines. I love the haphazard stacking, and the way they fit so perfectly in niche of the wall. It reminds me so much of Yvonne's beautiful color coordinated bookcase too.

Very Inspiring!

It's a rainy day in June, and I've been traipsing around town underneath my polka dotted umbrella most of the day. Which reminded me of all of the lovely umbrella themed photographs that I've been collecting over the past few months on flickr.

There's just something magical about umbrellas and parasols.

{1. konstantin grcic installation to die for, 2. m tothe p, 3. hiroshima umbrellas, 4. parasol, 5. Rain, 6. Umbrellas part III, 7. Mary Poppins space, 8. Think, wink, and double-blink, 9. umbrella facade}

I also can't think of umbrellas without conjuring up visions of one of my favorite scenes from the Gilmore Girls, "you jump, I jump Jack". Where they bungee jump Mary Poppins style!

Inspiration 17~ Painting the floor up in patterns.

I've been daydreaming about painting stenciled floors, here in my studio and basement laundry room this summer.

1. The painted scallop mosaic floor at the Astoria Coffee house was the catalyst that sparked this idea. The stenciling on the concrete floors there are so full of character. Yesterday while I was poking around on the internet looking at different stenciling shops, I found the pattern they used here at the shop MOTIF.

2. This is the stencil pattern I'm coveting, I found this photo from Easy living magazine (via Design Inspiration a.k.a. the stencil library's blog). This repeat pattern is Mokko, from the Japan range.

3. Domino magazine online offers their advice on how to find a great floor stencil. You see how quickly addictive this is all getting?!

4. This photo comes from the Australian store, the Stencil Gallery.

Over at L.A. apartment therapy, they featured this post on the Mokko pattern too. What is it about this pattern? I'm completely smitten over it! Every time I see someone post this photo on flickr I favorite it too. Yep, I think this is it.... I won't mind doing the laundry in the basement so much, if the atmosphere is this cute!

My very talented friend Monica tagged me this week with a "thinking blog award" meme. Such a flattering, and cute post! I love the little mac icons with screen captures she made. (I think Monica was a graphic designer in another life! She's so incredibly witty too, have you read about the adventure's of mimi?!)

As a graphic designer, I love looking at blogs that feed my visual senses. It's been hard thinking of five favorites, that I haven't yet mentioned here before since I'm always constantly linking to people and websites that inspire me to share with you. So, I began to think about the blogs I love to hit when I'm looking for color and pattern inspiration. I don't know any of these bloggers, so I'm not tagging them... but if anyone would like to carry the torch and talk about five blogs that inspire them, please do pass on the links, I know I'd love to read about them!

1. Misprinted Type, is visual bliss with an edge.

2. Love Forever's blog covers all good things. From amazing links to other artists like Rebecca Purcell to wardrobe refashion . What's not to love?!

3. NOTCOT: for your ideas + aesthetics + amusement
You could spend hours browsing through this goldmine of obscure and fascinating links.

4. Print and Pattern is a great inspirational resource for designers, and illustrators. I love looking at all of the beautiful packaging and textiles from around the world.

5. Free People shows you all of the behind the scenes magic from their amazing boutique stores. I love getting to see the process behind creating all of their thematic displays and getting sneak peeks at the original artwork that their graphic designer makes by hand before transforming into digital collage for their catalogs. Amazing!

Inspiration 16

I read a quote in a magazine today that said, "being afraid of color is like being afraid of being happy". So true isn't it?!

1. I recently found Kate Sutton's wonderful work via print & pattern's blog. I'm completely smitten with the style of her illustration, they remind me so much of the vintage children's books I grew up with.

Kate's offering up some wonderful little treasures like this collage in her etsy shop too!

2. I couldn't help but order a copy of Onishi Junko's book after seeing the gorgeous bags that Juju's been making. They've completely captivated my imagination, I keep finding myself going back to admire them. Look at all of the wonderful ways she combines textile patterns, color, and texture. They're so wonderfully unique!

3. I found this silkscreened bedspread imported from India last year at a cute shop in old towne Pasadena. Now it's sewn into a large curtain to hide our laundry closet in the kitchen. I'd been searching for some complimenting wallpaper for the area above all of the white paneling that I've been painting and remembered this great pattern I'd seen in Domino magazine last year from Tapettitalo. I opted for the subtle grey and white cherry blossoms. I've been feeling so picky about choosing wallpaper, it feels like I'm giving the house a semi-permanent tattoo. I was so happy when I remembered this, since I know it's a pattern that I can live with for awhile.

4. This moss garden on a cake platter comes from the most recent issue of Better Home's and Gardens, they say it's Alice worthy... and I agree! After our move to Oregon, I have a whole new appreciation for moss. I've been collecting different types and utilizing them in miniature gardens. I think this example is really clever!

Inspiration 15 ~ Existential Spring

Rainy Saturdays are pefect for inspiration posts.

1. I stumbed on Grady McFerrin's illustrations over on Chronicle books website last night and became instantly smitten. His work is so wonderfully playful, with such a subdued pallete.

2. I can't believe it myself, but suddenly I crave wallpaper. After removing all of those layers of old paper off the walls this summer, you'd think I'd be knocked to my senses. After some searching for artistic papers I stubled on Emily Watson's stylehive. It's chock full of great links to stylish papers.
{The butterfly print above comes from Osborne & Little.}

3. Ulla recently posted about Lyndie Dourthe's incredible paper flowers. I love the subtle washed out colors and delicate nature of the crepe paper, a fantastic muse for the flowers I've been making here in my studio today.

...more inspiration for October:

First, I'm squealing with admiration over the beautiful downloadable set of letters and numbers that I've used in the collage above, made by Jenny of Allsorts. I can't wait to make a banner like she did with them for Halloween. It's perfect!

1. This photo is from Wee Garden's miniature Gardening Blog. Her Lilliputian fairy garden photos are downright enchanting. I'm really in love with the idea of this tiny chandelier. I've got to make one.

2. Quite a brilliant slogan, for a t-shirt I'd say. From the Anzevino & Florence store.

3. Teesha Moore's blog is chock full of inspiration. I've been most familiar with her work through black and white zines. I love finally being able to see her work in full blown color. (link via Anahata's Inspiration Engine... another must see site filled with creative eyecandy!)

4. Another dose of color therapy from the Zara Home collection. I love going through their photos.

Lastly, here are a few quick shots I took of some of the colorful fabrics and patterns I've been playing with lately. My favorite part about the pillows pictured above with the oversized rick-rack trim are the buttons. They're actually tiny Alice and Wonderland collage pins from Tiffini of Tartx! And just for the sake of showing the world what I mean when I say my sewing machine is tiny, here it is!

October Inspiration abounds!

1. Design Sponge's guest blog archive of Affordable Art. This is a poster by one of my favorite designers: iso50. (Guest blogger Mav had featured there.) You should check out Scott Hanson's other site, Tycho Music too.

2. Martha, always lures me in most near the holidays. I love these lace punched pumpkins. I'm feeling ambitious this year and am going to try my hand at it. You've also got to check out Yvestown's pumpkins, they're magical!

3. I'm loving Moodswing studio's new pop culture trinkets. They feature quotes from some of my favorite 80's flicks. Every time she makes a new one, I just can't stop grinning!

4. I'm so envious over Pamela's recent visit to Wendy Addison's studio. The photos she took there are truly mezmerizing. This is such an inspiring post, don't miss it!

5. Alicia's most recent post is another creative treasure. I love how she pieced together all of those vintage bits of wallpaper on her closet door. It's so artistic!

I have such a love hate relationship with wallpaper though, as some of you might know! After spending a few weeks removing a ton of it in our new house, I actually sort of began to miss the different paper textures. I ended up ordering a few free hand-blocked samples of wallpaper from Farrow & Ball. There was something so beautiful in the simplicity of the designs, that I couldn't resist cutting them up to frame them. One day I might just wallpaper the inside of my studio closet in the damask pattern. You can order free samples of their paper too, here.

I came upon Julie Blackmon's color series "Domestic Vacations", this morning and instantly became smitten by the way she creates such alluring visual stories, with the most captivating interior spaces as backdrops. The quirky children, amazing lighting, and tounge-in-cheekiness of it all really grabbed my attention.

My favorite excerpt from her artist statement:
As an artist and as a mother, I believe lifes most poignant moments come from the ability to fuse fantasy and reality: to see the mythic amidst the chaos.

I'm completely smitten over Grainne Morton's one-off jewelry designs (found recently via Julie of handmaidby).

She begins by collecting obscure and miniature objects which are both formed and found. The found materials can include pressed flowers, old buttons, shells, pebbles, sea glass, printed tin and graphics/print. She complements these with formed elements creating handmade objects such as enamel work, miniature drawings and punched metal shim. These are then grouped into collections and housed in handmade boxes.

There's something so complex about old objects, they always leave traces of memories even when they aren't your own. I really love how each piece of Grainne's is steeped in found nostalgia.

Recently, I've also been feeling inspired by Robert Ryan's papercuts. (via thoughts from the bus stop)

Romantic. Melancholy. Delicate. I love the contrast of the finely cut imagery against the unsettling messages found in his pieces... peer in a little closer and look and then look again.

To see & read even more about Ryan's work take a visit to Paul Smith (via ulla).

Eugenio Recuenco's (top/left) fantastic images are so pretty at times, it hurts. I was first taken in by this clever series of photographs based on fairytales.

There's something about this other series too, that also stirs an instant daydream.

I found this book title for Rosemary Verey's Good Planting Plans (bottom/left) on Amazon a few years ago, and had saved a photo of the cover on my computer. I found it while rummaging through my files the other day. Time to order, I can't wait to see the goodness that lies inside this book.

An important part of the essence that drives people to create is the process. Seeing this photo of this carved block, reminded me of the passion I once had for designing textiles. I absolutely loved taking fiber arts classes... oh, the things we made! These Handblocked textiles by Galbraith & Paul almost make me want to enroll again. There are so many luscious things you can do with material.

(bottom/left) hippika and cherry blossom Finnish & Scandanavian wallpapers from Tapettitalo in Helsinki.

(top/right) I just love these natural silhouette adobe photoshop brushes from Design Fruit. I've seen them used on a few different websites and the results are always all kinds of wonderful.

Right now I'm also madly crushing on the movie Elizabethtown, and these wonderful handmade pendants by spoonfed art (via creature comforts).

& the buzz...

I had popped my head around the corner on Saturday (shuddering at the sight of massive bee colony again), then just as mysteriously as they arrived they vanished minutes later. Nothing left but six confused bees. I was feeling quite relieved until the next evening when the swarm re-appeared in the same spot. Unfortunately my neighbor is a renter and his lanlord is not a nice fellow, and since bee people are expensive... We're waiting another day or two and hoping that these buggers move on! But on the bright side there are only half as many as before, that's a good thing I guess. That and luckily it's rainy, so they're not zooming haphazardly all over the yard!

A few wonderful links I came across this morning...

Lori Nelson's artwork (pictured left and bottom right).
Just like love at first sight, first I fell for the beauty of the image that I could not take my eyes off of... then became bent-over-backwards smitten after I read this quote from her about the context:"In painting, as is in life, I am inevitably drawn to the awkward, the second-hand, the small. In these, the potential reaction is always in question and an element of danger exists in a microscopic moment. A storm is never far off on the horizon." ( Giclee Prints of her work are available at guild.com)

Robert Kuster for Glass works, fine art chandeliers are a visual explosion of color and shapes (pictured top/right). Whoa!

Adam Franks Lumen design, shadow play oil lamps (pictured middle/right). (via inhabitat) denote simplicity at it's cleverest. (They also remind me of the lamps my aunt once made out of punched star collanders that she bought at the hardware store. It was on top of a shelf and couldn't be seen, but the light emitted though the holes, made the most beautiful star pattern that clung to the walls and ceiling. Light play really can have a strong impact on a rooms mood. When you achieve just the right effect, it really can be magical. )

Top/Left:

This is an old clipping from Vogue I've had saved from my art school days. One of our instructors had us start collecting torn out pages from magazines for inspiration files. This one lured me in because of it's beautiful theatrics... the jewelry from this photo shoot still stirs my creative juices. I'm also head over heels with the beaded jewelry of Ana Banana on flickr. Her pieces are so colorful, and inspiring.

Top/Right: I was first introduced to Amy Rupel's layered assemblages by Karen of Kraf-o-la. They are the most amazing things. I love the depth and texture of her work, that she achieves by using beeswax & resin as one of her mediums. You can also find her lovely designs on pillows, cards, and t-shirts.

Row 2/Left: Ingredients: 1 can of beer, 1/2 teaspoon of sugar and several clumps of garden moss + stencil = moss graffiti.
I know it's been shared many times before, but I still think it's so innovative! To see more artwork by Helen Nodding visit her website Stories from Space...while there be sure to check out her insect bridges & secret worlds. Genius!

Row 2/Right: Vintage fawn silver necklace by Moss Mills, is available online at Doe. Be sure to explore their other goods too. The magnetic birds look really sweet... they chirp too!

Row 3/ Left: I collect blue and white china, and I love Tord Boontje's designs. That said, I'm completely loving his table stories collection. It's so clever! To see more visit Mocoloco, and Friend.

Row 3/ Right: I recently came across these flower making kits at the Paper Source and thought they were so cheerful... and unlike real flowers you won't ever feel that twinge of guilt about cutting off beauty in it's prime.

Row 4/ Left: I received the prettiest letter from Amanda of Frenchtoastcake on Jill Bliss's, Native Flowers Stationary this afternoon. It really brightened my day. There's nothing better then getting letters in the mail from your friends, especially when it comes on such beautiful paper. Thankyou!

Row 4/ Right: I'm such a project runway junkie! This Kimono dress was designed by Kara. Sadly she wore it on the runway on the episode that she was "Auf Wiedersehen"-ed by Heidi Klum. I couldn't stop thinking about this dress though. I was happy to find out that she's selling it online. It's available in a few different colors on her website.

**
(speaking of....) I really loved Kara's use of color on the runway at fashion week... you can check out her collection at New York Metro. Ok... I know if you're a fan of Project Runway you're dying to peek at the "final 3", so here's Chloe's, Santino's, and Daniel's collections too!

It's so easy to find inspiration these days, thanks to the internet!

Top/Left: Katy, of One Good Bumblebee wrote about the We Love Gocco show that she was in recently. I was so anxious to look at the gallery after reading her post and instantly had the "I can't believe it's a Gocco" feeling once I did. I couldn't even think straight as I was buying the print "Little Love" by Minza Wada, I think I may have been in a pure inspiration induced daze.

Top/Right: I love the work of Dawbis. She's got such an original style, a great eye for color and texture, and the sentimental messages in her work so often pull on my heart-strings. Unhappy with this piece, she had offered to give it to someone (instead of throwing it away) so she could re-work the idea. I had really lucky timing! Now it's hanging in my office, along with a surprise collage that she also sent called "Red's Apple Forest". They are even lovelier in person!

Middle/Left: This painted rug is by one of my favorite creative bloggers JuJu! The colors are so yummy! (She promises to give a how-to for this project soon.)

Middle/Right: I love the simple lines and contrast of colors in this charcoal scarf by Alena Hennessy. Such a beauty, It's on my wish list.

Bottom/Left: This juxtapose necklace is a new member of my personal collection, it's by Jessee of Art School Drop-out. (Honestly, she gets points just for that name alone, genius!) It looks amazing on... I love her clever use of wire.

Bottom/Right: I'm pining over the work of 1920's artist Esther Hunt (yet again). I'm on a hunt to buy one of her chalkware busts (they used to sell them as souvenirs in China Town), they are highly collectible and also incredibly hard to come by. It truly is a treasure hunt. Lately while searching for these I've been coming across her beautiful prints, and well... now I'd like to own a few of those too!

This post is coming to you today while I sit at my computer on my living room floor! Things are quite scattered around here still... but I've had this post brewing for two weeks now, so it's high time to send it out there into the internet universe.

Please excuse the headless models (we can thank fd's flickr toys for cropping them like that!). It's all about the clothes and fantastic creative minds anyway, on the new season of Project Runway. Top left is designer Santino's old world style, vs. Diana's (top/right) vision of science meets fashion. I'm so hooked on this show, it isn't even funny!

I really admire Dame Darcy's style (row 2) and her ability to work across so many different mediums. From painting a room for Frances Bean (Courtney Love's daughter) to her illustrations for Meat Cake comics, she's simply amazing.

Lulette's message scarves (row 3/left) have been on my wish list for such a long time... I especially love the one that quotes Marie Antoinette saying, "Let them eat cake". Genius.

Many of you that have received snail mail cards & other correspondence from me already know that I love Anne Taintor's collages (row 3/right), their cheeky sense of humor always make me grin!

The colorful photos of interiors on the designers guild website (row 4/left), simply make me swoon. This photo from their Samarkand collection is a great example of their wonderful way of pairing rich textiles in wonderful color combinations.

I love coincidences, they always make me feel like I'm right on track! Joy had serendipitously posted about the gypsy chandelier over at Charles & Marie the same time I wrote about the one that hangs in my aunts house. For those who are interested they sell it online at Dutch by Design. Be sure to check out it's even more dramatic cousin!

I adore this little panda pattern offered up by Molly chicken. What a great gift idea!

Twig Wizardry makes tiny furniture out of (you guessed it) twigs. These would make such a fun addition to a fairy garden.

Second Time Cool, was first introduced to me by a post from Karen at Kraf-o-la (she never fails to find beautiful things). It contains more great ideas about sweater recycling, it's still on my wish list.

Sabrina Ward Harrison has such an amazing aesthetic, and is not afraid to spill! I really admire her work.

The season's of cannon falls is a company that specializes in decorating for all of the different seasons. They represent a lot of different folk artists. Right now I'm especially fond of Wendy Addison's sparkly old-fashioned glass mirror glitter garlands. There is an over-sized one that says "wish" for the winter holiday season that I especially covet!

Maggie Taylor is a digital artist that I've had bookmarked for some time now. Her work is amazing. You may recognize this piece from the opening credits of the t.v. show "the ghost whisperer". (If you ever watch that show and see a traffic circle with a fountain in the middle surrounded by a lot of shops, that's my neighborhood.)

Where women Create is a book I've recently come across on the web, now also on my wish list. I love peering into other people's creative work spaces. This book looks so inspiring.

Textile Arts sells wall hanging kits to display Marimekko fabrics as artwork. The finished pieces look absolutely stunning.

Inspirations: week 2
(ber girly)

From left to right:

Chandelier, chair, and silhouette motifs used in design.... a good example is Jeffrey Fisher's Nolita pillows.

Vintage Vogue cover illustrations like this one created in 1913 by George Wolfe Plank. The Art of Vogue Covers 1909-1940 (out of print but you can still find used copies on Amazon and Ebay) by William Parker, is pure eye candy.

Niceness.uk original wallpaper. This one is peacock feathers... I have a bit of a weakness there.

Hand lined envelopes, with screened papers from the paper source. ( The Italian print of the red/green flower is my favorite right now.)

Saturate design, lovely Chinese papercut silkscreened designs...what inspired me to buy a print gocco.

My favorite invention... the ipod, looking quite swanky in a Fairisle slip from free people.

When I look at something and it makes my heart skip a beat, I mentally scramble trying to file that thing somewhere in my brain so I don't forget it. This morning I thought, "wouldn't it be grand, to share the one's I would normally keep to myself ?!". So starting this week, I'm upping the ante to post a little more often to include my weekly inspirations... so, here we go!

From left to right:
Hurrah for inspiring fashion photography! I always find such lovelies through the foto decadent community on live journal.
Anthropologie's holiday gift wrapping, using felt and other home-spun fibers.
juldagen mugs also from anthropologie, with Apples, snowflakes, finches and flowers ...my favorite motifs at the moment, it couldn't get any better.
Cozy home photos (the kitchen looks like my kitchen, hey!), found by my artistic mom!
Vintage postcards from the early 1900's with beautiful handwriting, thank you ebay.
Michael Smith's upcoming release, the Elements of Style found in my new favorite magazine Domino (looks like just my cup of tea!)
