David Spade's going to be filming a movie on my neighbors porch. (The location scouts said it reminded them of their grandmothers house.) Will it be "Joe Dirt" the sequel???!!! hahaha....we'll see.
I guess the spring cleaning bug has finally bitten me too. Over the past two weeks I've become obsessed with organizing all of my crafty bits. I found the most genius storage bins ever over the weekend to organize my beadwork. They're called "watch-makers" tins. Before that I was using discarded altoid tins with labels that had my interpretation of the color. They said things like "lovely green" and "opaque grape". (I think I may have missed my calling as one of those people who gets paid to name crayons or something.)
My second all consuming obsession as of late is the "print gocco". I finally surrendered to it's powers and had to invest in one after watching countless blog posts about all of it's wonderful possibilites.
When the package came in the mail from Dick Blick, it felt exactly like Christmas. It came with the most hilarious instructional video, where (the circa late 70's early 80's) woman spoke exactly like a robot. The Japanese writing on the packaging gave no help to the instructional video, but I'm kinda a fly by the seat of your pants girl anyway when it comes to learning curves.
The first test screen was filled with different variations of the letter "L" from a really wonderful Dover Art Nouveau clip art book. Using different metallic inks and colored cardstock I found which colors worked best against each other... by then I was really hooked.
Ribbons were the next thing. My husband and I screened these together late into the evening on Saturday, until we used up all of the ribbon in the house. Seriously, it's not just me...I think he's become addicted too.

Awhile ago I was just itching to make some windchimes from old skeleton keys. Many unsuccessful ebay auctions later, I finally came across some that were really inexpensive at an antique market over the weekend. So, earlier this week I had a go at it using lampwork beads, decoupaged crystals, an ornate antique door plate, and heavy guage fishing line.
They are so perfectly funky, I love the result and the way the keys go clink, clink, clink...in the wind.

In other randomness, I came across this really silly video last week. It's so crazy...I guarantee you'll giggle.
