A While Ago & Recently

Did you notice my blog looks so much cleaner, and organized now?! It wouldn't of been possible without the talent and generosity from my good friend Yvonne at Yvestown. For some reason I can never seem to sort out the glitches with blogger html codes, I'm so grateful that she came to my rescue. Because of the time difference from Holland to the US west coast, she was actually working on this while I was sleeping last night. It was such a surprise to see all of my old archives from 2003 visible on the sidebar this morning... oh my gosh. It was kind of akin to the feeling of having your skirt tossed up in the schoolyard in elementary school! I can't believe some of the stuff I wrote when I first started this blog. So needless to say, this morning I cleaned up the archives a bit. Funny stuff. Thanks so much again Yvonne!
For those of you who have been asking about Par Avion and sparrow pendants, I'm working on a little shop update today. I've decided to discontinue making jewelry after this update for awhile so I can refocus my creative energy. It always feels good to change things up a bit. I'm super excited about continuing designing for PaPaYa and also craving to get back to basics with my artwork. So it's a good thing... really!

Here are some visual snippets from the local garden & historic home tours we've taken this summer. It's been a great way to gather ideas and meet other creative people in the local scene. In fact some of these old buildings and gardens are just so visually intriuging, it's often hard to leave. Every home always has it's own story to tell.

Kime Buzzelli's artwork makes me completely weak in the knees. I get such an overwhelming feeling of inspiration each time I visit her blog The Moldy Doily. Her paintings are a brilliant combination of beauty and edginess.
I also love the way they emanate a contagious sort of creative energy. I always feel like I want to go run off and create something each time I visit.
To see a really wonderful collection of her work, and learn more about the artist (she's so wonderfully intriguing!) visit the motel gallery's website.

Two little scenes from last nights birthday celebration at Wende's. Surrounded by good friends, flowers, and sweet pets like her Welshie Sophie who let me bling her with my tiara... It was most definitely my cup of tea.
Thanks so much Wende & Paula!
