Inspiration 17~ Painting the floor up in patterns.
I've been daydreaming about painting stenciled floors, here in my studio and basement laundry room this summer.
1. The painted scallop mosaic floor at the Astoria Coffee house was the catalyst that sparked this idea. The stenciling on the concrete floors there are so full of character. Yesterday while I was poking around on the internet looking at different stenciling shops, I found the pattern they used here at the shop MOTIF.
2. This is the stencil pattern I'm coveting, I found this photo from Easy living magazine (via Design Inspiration a.k.a. the stencil library's blog). This repeat pattern is Mokko, from the Japan range.
3. Domino magazine online offers their advice on how to find a great floor stencil. You see how quickly addictive this is all getting?!
4. This photo comes from the Australian store, the Stencil Gallery.
Over at L.A. apartment therapy, they featured this post on the Mokko pattern too. What is it about this pattern? I'm completely smitten over it! Every time I see someone post this photo on flickr I favorite it too. Yep, I think this is it.... I won't mind doing the laundry in the basement so much, if the atmosphere is this cute!
