Inspiration 4
This post is coming to you today while I sit at my computer on my living room floor! Things are quite scattered around here still... but I've had this post brewing for two weeks now, so it's high time to send it out there into the internet universe.
Please excuse the headless models (we can thank fd's flickr toys for cropping them like that!). It's all about the clothes and fantastic creative minds anyway, on the new season of Project Runway. Top left is designer Santino's old world style, vs. Diana's (top/right) vision of science meets fashion. I'm so hooked on this show, it isn't even funny!
I really admire Dame Darcy's style (row 2) and her ability to work across so many different mediums. From painting a room for Frances Bean (Courtney Love's daughter) to her illustrations for Meat Cake comics, she's simply amazing.
Lulette's message scarves (row 3/left) have been on my wish list for such a long time... I especially love the one that quotes Marie Antoinette saying, "Let them eat cake". Genius.
Many of you that have received snail mail cards & other correspondence from me already know that I love Anne Taintor's collages (row 3/right), their cheeky sense of humor always make me grin!
The colorful photos of interiors on the designers guild website (row 4/left), simply make me swoon. This photo from their Samarkand collection is a great example of their wonderful way of pairing rich textiles in wonderful color combinations.
I love coincidences, they always make me feel like I'm right on track! Joy had serendipitously posted about the gypsy chandelier over at Charles & Marie the same time I wrote about the one that hangs in my aunts house. For those who are interested they sell it online at Dutch by Design. Be sure to check out it's even more dramatic cousin!
