These photos (click on them to view larger) are from one of my favorite books Textile style by Carol Clifton-Mogg, which has forever been lying open on my coffee table. I love looking through it and finding a new page to display. It's also inspired many purchases in my house, from embroidered shawls to carefully hand-sewn quilts. It's latest inspiration, occurred on Friday while I was having a bit of a shopping seizure...I found this great set of colored linens at crate and barrel. Soon I plan to have my way with them and transform them into pillows. They've got a really nice nubby texture, resembling raw silk. Sometimes I go there to buy large cloth napkins to re-cover the seats on my dining room chairs as well, they have the swankiest fabrics. (So forget shopping for fabric at JoAnne's.) Anthropologie (of course) always has a really great selection beautiful dishtowels in their store as well (like these)...
Shown left are my embroidered swirly strawberry & Scotty dog towels that I purchased from there. I have them hanging in lieu of real cabinet doors while I'm waiting for our kitchen to finish being renovated. Hiding ugly things I don't care to look at with cute fabrics is one of my magical powers. Hey!

The Liquid shop is up and running again. I've been a paper making junkie this weekend...but now I need a rest. I'll leave you with one more of the delicious images from the textile book. Happy weekend!
