I created this miniature garden yesterday with a collection of succulents, ground cover moss, Bacopa, collected beach rocks, driftwood, and tree moss. Perfect for small patio gardens, and balconies. They really have a certain magic about them.

Written by Administrator on April 22nd, 2012Sage advice from artist Nicole Lavelle. (via Beautiful)
From the artist:
A multi-purpose, open edition poster made from newsprint and a borrowed marker:
1. Keeps me motivated. (As in: “Someone needs to light a fire under her ass.”)
2. Conjures images of cooking while camping. (As in: “How should we roast this marshmallow?”)
3. Offers a viable suggestion for how to rid oneself of unwanted objects. (As in: “Burn that shit!”)
Some people received these in the mail.
Reminders by Erin Hanson
Written by Administrator on April 19th, 2012Erin Hanson is a photographer who lives in Austin. Armed with an inspired idea, some hand-work and a camera, Erin Hanson made an amazing photo series called “Reminders”.
With the intro: “Childish treatment for Childish behavior”, she leads us through this fun series. Cracking the laziness code by keeping busy with creativity.
There’s more to visually explore, with prints available to purchase through her website Recovering Lazyholic.

The Electronic version of “Within You” is amazing too, I just can’t get enough of Gus Gus’s lead singer Högni Egilsson’s voice.
Do It Anyway

(“Do Good” by Twamies, etsy)
The Paradoxical Commandments by Dr. Kent M. Keith were originally written in 1968 as a 19 year old student while studying at Harvard (Titled “the silent revolution”) to help student leaders. The words were also found on a sign on the wall of Mother Teresa‘s children’s home in Calcutta, and is often attributed to her. I read her version some years ago. They were powerful enough words that they somehow found shelter in the depths of my subconscious. So here they are, in the hopes they find the people who need them most.
People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.
People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have and you’ll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.
